No Sew Cape/Poncho

I made this no sew cape (more like a poncho with arm holes) using this tutorial from Ruffles and Stuff and gave it to Addison for Christmas.  She absolutely loves it and so do I.  It's super simple to make and since it's no sew, there's no excuse for not making one.  Anyone can do it.  Watch for fleece to go on sale at your local fabric store and then buy it and make it!  I want to make one for myself now... although I don't know if I could pull it off as cutely as Addison does. :)

  1. Hi Anissa,
I found your blog via Disney's blog Ruffles and Stuff. I'm thinking of making a new-sew flutter cape like yours for my niece for Christmas. Would you mind giving me an idea of what size Addison was when she wore this cape? My niece is a size 3 or 4, and not having any kids of my own is making it hard to estimate how big to cut the fleece!
    Thanks so much!

  2. Hi Meredith,
Addison, in this picture, is 3 yrs and 3 months old. At that time she worse a size 3T to 4T. But she actually still has this cape and can still wear it just fine. She's a girl size 5 now (big growth spurt this year). So the cape is really forgiving with sizes and should last a year or two, which is rare for little kids clothes. :) If you have any other questions just let me know!
    Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Thanks so much the info Anissa! Do you think just adding a few inches to the length and width of the measurements Disney gave (size 2T) would work?

  4. Is there anyway you can let me know the measurements you used for your cape. I don't have kids (I am wanting to make these for my nieces), so I don't know how big to make it. The measurements she had on the tutorial seemed huge to me, but maybe I just don't know. My nieces are both 3 (almost 4) and one is really tall. Thanks for your help!
